Today went pretty well, im in a good place right now, and im happy and content with everything.
I got into Glasgow and went to meet jen, Keegan and Grant at Borders and we headed up to hand in our essays. Decided not to go to the seminar, my attendance at those classes is reaching low levels, but the pics was soo much more fun.
Im going to see Kirsty tonight, im not going to Hospital radio, i love the place, but im tired and its friday night and i need some guy advice from kirsty so heading to hers seems like the better optician especially since chocolate is involved. My mum seems to like this idea too as she knows ill eat a lot of junk food and she still worrying that im not eating properly and wants me to put the weifht i lost back on.
So thats about it, im not doing much at the weekend at all, sleeping, sleeping and more sleeping, im sooo exhausted right now, ive got reviews to do, but its fun work so i dont mind.

So today was my day at XFM
It started bad, because i was soooo cold and they were sooooo late.
But when Paul (producer) arrived it started to get a lot better, we went upstairs and i started to research for the Idlewild interview (thats right i got to meet Idlewild, well just Roddy, but hes the only important one).
Lauren soon appeared, she was soo nice and we spent most of the time talking about Falkirk (her ex-lives here), Darius, Zane and music of course.
After she pre-recorded the Idlewild interview and it was soon time to do her show, the faded all the music carts from London, so she only had to do the links between them. We chatted more about Zane and she told me about him recording some new music(about time too) but hes to scared to release it in the UK. We chatted more about the Libertines and how we both feel really sorry for Carl and she knows the queens of noize, but it was really good.
So that was the day really, she did guestlist me for Dogs Die in Hot Cars and Eastern Lane on Monday night at the Garage, so if anyone wants to join me i have a free guestlist place.
On our way out i finally met Stuart (guy who works for Beat and produces the rock shows) so it was good to chat to him, the Lauren came and said goodbye and told me to keep in contact and whenever im in London to give her a buzz and i can go help her out. 2 mins later and her producer comes in to say goodbye and tells me to give him a phone whenever im in London.
This impressed Stuart cos apparently this doesnt happen often, so he wants me to sit in on the rock show on Beat too, so things are looking pretty good.
And to top of that, i bought the nme on the way home and the free cd had music from get this, The Futureheads, Babyshambles, THE OTHERS, Kasier Chefs, Selfish Cunt, Nine Black Alps then i get to the concert page of the NME to find out that Nine Black Alps are touring next year and so are The Others and Willy Mason is coming to Glasgow. So im pretty excited right now.
Off to finish my uk case study xxx

Last night was Blink. I got hollie, craig and stacey into Glasgow and we went for food met ally and headed to the SECC. There was just masses of people everywhere and the queue seemed to go on forever, but we got in eventually just in time for the first shit support blink had with them
It wasnt long before they were off and Sugarvult were on and they played Pretty Girl which made it all so much more special.
I lost Hollie and the others the minute Blink came on stage, it was at the point that i nearly got my lip ring ripped out, but luckily only the ball came off, Bob was dragged to the ground and everyone was on top of him and hes a pretty big guy aswell, some little kids next to me where crying cos of it all i did feel slightly sorry for them.
They were amazing though and they played stay together for the kids :D, it seemed to be over really quickly though, but it was one of the best gigs ive seen in a while.
Bob gave us all a lift home, which meant me, Hollie, Ryan and Craig were all squashed into the back of his tiny car, i was sandwiched between Ryan and Craig and Hollie seemed to only get one leg on the seat. After i counted my array of Bruises and Cuts and my one burn (i mean who fucking smokes in the middle of the concert) i feel asleep, and when i woke up we were just driving up to my house :D
Im due at XFM in 2 hours, i was meant to go into the early seminar, but i need to make a trip to the piercers to get a new lip ring, so i wont make that, anyway ive got 7 hours of XFM ahead of me :D :D :D :D xxx

So Zane loves me for many reasons apparently, as it just announced it on MTV2 when my entry for the couch competition was shown :D :D :D
Anyways today was good, my mum let me sleep in only to inform me she couldnt give me a lift to the train station so i missed my train and the 10 o'clock class, but it was like i making the effort to get in for it. But i did get in, in time to buy myself new jeans ones that i dont need a belt to hold up, go me, although my mum seems slightly concerned ive went down a trouser size so is feeding me big portions of food in an attempt to fatten me up.
The next class again seemed pointless, i did score 11.2 in the test though and considering i missed the past few weeks i think thats pretty good :D
Me, Jen, Grant and David headed to Buchannan Galleries for so much needed lunch even though it was only David that ate anything, we picked the secret santa and i got someone good so im pretty pleased about that.
Ive spent the past two hours at Kirstys house, i wish i could do more to help and i wish i understood better, but its hard, i mean im so used to having so little privacy, whereas shes used to having to much. I hate having to share my room, but shed love the company. But we had our usual moans about guys and decided we might go see Colin Murray dj at some point this week, not to sure what day it is, but im gonna try see if he can sneak me in or if zane can get him to sneak me in.
Anyway im off to watch the rest of Gonzo and do some more of this case study, no uni tomorrow, dont see the point in going in for one class, when i could stay at home do my essay and go through to queue for Blink, thats right Blink and Sugarcult in less that 24 hours :D :D :D

 | You scored as Anna. No one understands you. Your life revolves around being different and probably excessive romantic allusions. Stop being so self absorbed and put greater emphasis on examining the sensibility of your behavior to avoid simply becoming an abstract narcissist.

Im still at Uni, im pretty proud of myself having stayed back an extra 3 hours to do this case study, ive basically done it all its just a case of re-reading it all and cutting it down cos at the moment its too long, but hopefully if i stay a little bit longer i can do most of that, ive also got to know grant a lot better too having spent most of the afternoon in his company.
Then im gonna try find some trousers since none of mine (bar one pair) actually fit without me having to wear a belt. One of the disadvantages to loosing weight even if it was just a few pounds. My mum is still trying to make me put the weight back on, with her array of junk food she gives me everytime i leave the house.
And im hungry too, but if i move ill loose my computer, i suppose i can put up with my stomach rumbling for a little longer, then tonight im going sit down and watch Gonzo in the hope they'll shw my entry for the Gonzo comp, if they did itll be pretty amazing esp since Mike Skinner is on tonight, if not then itll still be amazing cos the show hasnt been on for 2 weeks :D and im sad and get excited about these things. Its the little things in life that make it all worthwhile i say and if this one show can cheer me up (not that i need it at this time) then its well worth it.
So im off to finish this case study i MUST finish it tonight....and only 2 days til Blink/Sugarcult :D :D

Im impressed with myself ive managed to do a lot of this stupid essay tonight, section 1 is way too long though its at 1118 words and its not finished, so ill need to cut that down. Section 2 is okay, but i havent started the 3rd bit yet. Im going try work til midnight then hit the sack and finish tomorrow after uni.
Also looks like London is on, Zane mailed to say hes trying to sort something pre-xmas out, and he'll get back to me, although recent absenses from classes means its looking like im going only get down for a day megabus style, a day is better than nothing, but i was hoping to live it up London xmas stlye...oh well id better get off do this stupid essay

Wishlist! Step One - Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want. - If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you. - Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.
Step Two - Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part: - If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it. - You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. - Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call. There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
My Wishes:
1) Anything to do with Darius, whether it be a badge, poster or tiny picture you ripped outta a magazine.
2) Band tees...(in particular The Futureheads, GLC, McFly, Darius, The Bravery, Kings of Leon, Razorlight, HOTS, Lostprophets)
3) a ticket to see The Futureheads, The Killers, Kasier Chefs, Bloc Party on the nme tour in Jan
4) Badges of everyone, i would really like a Zane badge (i lost my old one), theres a machine with badges of the radio 1 dj in the reception of Radio 1, but ive never had enough time to try and get one
5) Belt Buckles (in particular one of the naked woman sitting on a moon, darius has it and ive only ever seen it on ebay or in Camden)
6) Books on travelling around the world.
7) a tattoo, not to pay for it, but people to help design it with me
8) letters/emails/postcards/notes/cards... these things are the best things ever, it doesnt matter who they come from, suprise mail is the best though.
9) Any rare or special edition cds and records or posters or any merchanise from Ryan Adams
10) a old Record player

I just spent the past half hour writing a mamoth email to Ken, about what im doing work experience outside of uni just now and reassuring him im on top of my studies, which i am, okay so ive not done much of this case study, but im managing to do uni work with experience so its all okay.
My MP talked for 3 hours straight i didnt get a word in, he was the nicest guy aswell, so i missed the UK Gov seminar, as happy as i am, im worried about my attendance for these seminars falling below 50%.
So tonighs plan is to start this study whilst listening to all my cds i got from Shari, then the same tomorrow and tomorrow night, Sunday im in at forth from 8-4 helping out on the charity auction and then i might see the Bravery on Sunday night.
Anyway better go get started on this study, also saw Darius new video today, im sad and cried, you gotta know the message behind the song and you kinda gotta know or at least have met his Dad and you'd get in, its just like why half the audience at the forth awards was in tears.

Im just back from dinner with my mum and dad at Bella Pasta, it was really nice, nice to have some time alone with them, cause we hardly spent any time together they are always with beki and david.
On the drive back from Glasgow i made them listen to Zanes show, we only turned over to Forth 1 cause Mark had said he'd play me a Darius song :D which he did/.
I'm interviewing my MP tomorrow, slightly worried since i have no idea what im going to ask him, im know fuck all about local politics and frankly dont want to know anything about it, but it'll help me with me case study.
And then tomorrow after uni im getting all my hair cut off :D
So back to tonights plans, im going think of stuff to ask this guy, watch the libertines on MTV2, then listen to Annie Mac then start listening to all the cds Shari sent me to review (THANK U!!) reviews will be with you once ive got this stupid case study out the way.

Last night was good, at least it gives me another article in the paper, if i do a feature on it, that means ill get at least another 2 articles in the paper before xmas and they should both be pretty big articles, so thats not bad.
it kinda just depends on how much time i have at the moment i dont have much, but once i actually start this case study, that'll be out the way and ill have more time to do everything else.
Im still trying to plan a return trip to London, if by some chance i do win this competition on Gonzo then they'll all be coming up here as much as Alex says he loves my entry i cant see them trailing up here to film the xmas episode, it too far considering they have to bring the couch with them too.
I wanna go back see him do the Dj night with Annie Mac and Queens of Noize, but that means taking ANOTHER thursday off uni and im missing next week for the XFm thing, i dunno, failing that ill megabus it back down on the last week and see him.

10:35 pm - Give me space so i can breathe
|
Today was my day at Beat 106...
There was 16 of us that had been picked for the open day, everyone was a good few years older than me expect for one girl of the same age, there was also a lack of females there was only 4 of us to the 12 males.
We got talks from everyone in Beat, this bit i found a bit boring just because ive worked in all the departments at Forth so know how it all works, so it seemed a bit pointless the fact they served up some shit food for lunch made it even more pointless.
I did get to meet the woman who im doing my work experience with in a few weeks, im stil praying ill get some sort of work at the end of it.
So the afternoon was the fun bit, we got to chat with the guys who to the Breakfast show and see into the studios which were huge, then we got to make our own advert on Cocaine, which was good, except for the really ugly guy who seemed to follow me the whole day, i hate calling people ugly cos i know im not the most attractive person...but really he was bad.
So we recorded our adverts and they are sending them to us on CD, it was good overall and i did get to build my contacts list, but they guy i wanted to see Stuart Barrie (the specialist shows producer who is trying to get me into the station) was off sick, but it does give me and excuse to go back since he's offered me the chance to go in have a look about so im hoping to do that soon too.
Im now working on my Reuben Interview, im only in Uni for an hour tomorrow :) no point in going to the Lecture, they are soo bad you actually wanna stab your pen in your own eye just to make it more interesting. Then im straight home to do some study before Kirsty picks me up, we're going try out this new restaurant thats opened in town and go to the Aucoustic Kitchen in town, its been going for 3/4 weeks now and i still havent shown my face, when really i should do, and they guy that puts it on wants to meet me, meet the person behind my column, so it should be fun.
Im off to bed, ive got work to do, but im falling asleep and im up early for a driving lesson

Im watching the Gonzo on Tour stuff its weird seeing it all, especially the interview with The Departure, since i was stood behind the camera when it took place, i have a feeling you wont see me, but maybe ill be wrong.
Tomorrow is my open day at Beat 106 :D, im rather excited about it, just cause it could be my foot in the door at the station...heres hoping.
Anyway im off to contemplate some thoughts that have been on my mind all day

Im feeling less stressed out about everything now.
I have piles of work to be done, but im sure i'll get it all done. Last nights gig was good, i can cover it in my column for next weeks issue, then in two weeks time ill interview Full Picture and give them some exposure, just found out they are playing the vale in a few weeks so extra point to them for that, well all know how cool the vale is dont we mari n shiv.??
So the Falkirk Herald is sorted for the rest of the year, im also planning my return assault on London kinda all depends on Zanes schedule, but i can go on the 9th-12th and see him Dj with Annie Mac (slightly over-excited about this) or go on the 14-16th and see The Depature one night, Zane then tthe others the next night, whatever way its gonna be great.
Uni work is going okay, feeling better about this UK Gov case study im interviewing my MP on friday morning before uni, so thats okay, and im looking through books just now taking notes and stuff.
Ive got numerous reviews to do, which im in the middle off too, and a Reuben interview to transcript, but i seem to be on top of it.
Just now all i can think about is the open day at Beat 106 on tuesday, im hoping Stuart the specialst producer will be there, cause hes the one trying to get me into the station.
But its gonna be a busy week, going out on wednesday to see some bands playin town, more work for the falkirk herald, and all weekend its the forth one charity auction im on sunday 8am-4 thats gonna be one long shift.
